Genealogy Series
From antique heirlooms to cutting-edge science, there is something for everyone who is interested in family history. Learn about records and places that provide clues to your ancestors, the easiest way to find those resources, and what to do once you’ve found them. Discover how science unites with history to help break down brick walls and find family using DNA research. Grow your family tree through a variety of online resources that will be introduced. Participants may submit a family tree chart in advance for some fun during the first session.
Session 1: Let's Meet Our Ancestors (Thursday, September 20, 2018)
Session 2: Popular Genealogical Resources (Thursday, September 27, 2018)
Session 3: Finding Family Online (Thursday, October 4, 2018)
Session 4: DNA & Your Family Tree (Thursday, October 11, 2018)
Each session is from 6:30pm - 7:30pm with the exception of October 11 which will be 6:30pm - 8pm.

Our instructor:
Jennifer Zinck is a Professional Genealogist with more than a decade of research experience. Jennifer is a researcher, writer, and speaker who specializes in Connecticut resources and Genetic Genealogy. She frequently speaks and presents workshops at libraries and senior centers on topics including beginner and intermediate genealogy, online resources, genetic genealogy, and technology for genealogy. Jennifer is an Academic Professional at Boston University, Metropolitan College, instructing the Forensic Genealogy module for the Genealogical Research Certificate Program.
Jennifer is serving her second term as the President of the Connecticut Professional Genealogists Council and she is a member of the Genetic Genealogy Standards Committee. She is a member of several professional organizations including the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Society, and the Connecticut Society of Genealogists.
