Music TogetherAges 0—5 with CaregiverMondays, 9:30 & 10:30 AM Join this international, research-based music & movement program for children from birth to Kindergarten- and the grownups who love them! Around the globe, families enrolled in the program playfully share in songs, rhymes, movement and instrument play, both in class and throughout daily life. Designed as a multi-semester program to grow with your little one over the course of early childhood, a beautifully illustrated songbook and CD is included each semester. Music Together brings families and friends together in a rich musical environment and demonstrates how joyful, spontaneous music-making can be a part of everyday life. Take advantage of this special opportunity to participate in the beloved Music Together program right here in Granby! Instructor: Sarah Asmar, Music Together of West Hartford and Farmington Valley. Held at Salmon Brook Park in the Gathering Room on Mondays for 10 weeks. *No class on 9/30. Fall Session:  Mondays, September 9—November 18 (10 weeks) Fee:  $220 first child, $115 second child , $90 third child.  Infant siblings under 8 months on the first day of class are free.  Discount(s) will appear when at check out. This is a beginner course with a strong emphasis on developing all four language skills. The focus in this class will be placed on speaking and listening activities using technology and real-world situations. The assignments will concentrate on reading and writing using authentic resources in order to explore Hispanic culture and history. All students will need to bring a pen or pencil, a composition notebook, lined paper and a folder. This class, taught by Claudia Gonzalez who is a Spanish teacher at Enfield, HS will run on Mondays beginning Sept 30th in the Gathering Room at SBP. This program is for anyone ages 16 and up. **No class on 10/14.

Following the beginner course, students will continue to develop all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) while advancing to learning and applying more complex grammatical structures (the preterit and the imperfect tense, as well as reflexive verbs). All content and activities will be studied using authentic resources and real-world situations in order to explore Hispanic culture and history. Students will need to bring a pen or pencil, a composition notebook, lined paper and a folder. This class, taught by Claudia Gonzalez who is a Spanish teacher at Enfield, HS, will run for 8 weeks on Monday evenings starting Sept 30th. *No class on 10/14.

This program is held on Monday evenings in the community gym at Granby Memorial High School. Pick-up games for 2 hours for those under age 35 from 7-9 pm. $50 for the session or $8 resident drop-in fee or $10 non-resident drop in fee. Drop in fees are cash only. Program runs from 9/16-11/25*.  Please check the Granby Recreation website Monday afternoons after 3 pm if you are a drop in for updates on cancellations. Drivers license needs to be shown at check in.*No Basketball on 10/14, 11/4.

Being active is the secret to staying healthy! Walking is an easy and inexpensive way to get moving....join our walking club & come walk with us every Tuesday from 12:00-12:45 pm at the beautiful Salmon Brook Park during the lunch time hour. Meet at the Recreation Office. We will be staying on the pavement and walking around the park for 45 minutes of fitness, conversation and fun. We can all motivate each other at this weekly scheduled walk. Dogs and strollers are welcome! Dress for the weather! Registration is required. We are looking for a volunteer to lead this group! Please contact the Recreation Office if you are interested!

New in town a middle school co-ed volleyball program! Spike juniors' goal is to offer age appropriate skill development and game play. Younger players can work with lighter weight beginner volleyballs and lower net heights to encourage success! The proper fundamentals of volleyball, while focusing on individual skills, fitness, sportsmanship and most importantly, having fun while learning to be a great player! The basics will be taught along with an introduction to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner. Each practice starts with the basics of passing, serving, sets or hitting and ends with a game like situation. Coach Cindy van der Mark will be running this program which began in the Netherlands years ago with great success! *No class on 10/15 Participants should bring water, knee pads (optional), athletic clothes and indoor shoes. There is a one-time equipment fee of $45 paid to Cindy at the first practice. This is for a special lite volleyball and club t-shirt with the player's name. Returning players pay only a $20 equipment fee just for the t-shirt. Bring this t-shirt and ball to every practice. Join us for these classes where you'll learn basic sign language proficiency. Open to anyone ages 10 and up. This class will run for 6 weeks on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7pm beginning Oct 16th. Each week will focus on a new concept around food and picky eating, and making a tasty snack together. Get ready to get messy and play with some food. The clinic will be run by Curt Field, current assistant boys' varsity basketball coach and former state champion player (2013 Granby Bears – Class S state championship team) along with a group of players from the high school team. Sharpen your skills and be ready for the fast approaching winter basketball season. Lets Go!!!Each participant should bring his/her own ball (Put your name on it!) and wear proper footwear. Held at Salmon Brook Park in the Gathering Room on Mondays for 10 weeks. *No class on 9/30. Fall Session:  Mondays, September 9—November 18 (10 weeks) Fee:  $220 first child, $115 second child , $90 third child.  Infant siblings under 8 months on the first day of class are free.  Discount(s) will appear when at check out. Up to 2 make-up classes may be scheduled for you for a missed class.  Classes will be cancelled in the event of a weather-related Granby Public Schools closing and make-up option provided.
 
6:00 PM - 6:40 PM    Beginner Spanish Classes - Beginner Spanish Classes
This is a beginner course with a strong emphasis on developing all four language skills. The focus in this class will be placed on speaking and listening activities using technology and real-world situations. The assignments will concentrate on reading and writing using authentic resources in order to explore Hispanic culture and history. All students will need to bring a pen or pencil, a composition notebook, lined paper and a folder. This class, taught by Claudia Gonzalez who is a Spanish teacher at Enfield, HS will run on Mondays beginning Sept 30th in the Gathering Room at SBP. This program is for anyone ages 16 and up. **No class on 10/14.
 
6:50 PM - 7:30 PM    Intermediate Spanish Classes - Intermediate Spanish Classes
Following the beginner course, students will continue to develop all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) while advancing to learning and applying more complex grammatical structures (the preterit and the imperfect tense, as well as reflexive verbs). All content and activities will be studied using authentic resources and real-world situations in order to explore Hispanic culture and history. Students will need to bring a pen or pencil, a composition notebook, lined paper and a folder. This class, taught by Claudia Gonzalez who is a Spanish teacher at Enfield, HS, will run for 8 weeks on Monday evenings starting Sept 30th. *No class on 10/14.
 
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM    Basketball- Mens' Under 35 - Basketball- Mens' Under 35
This program is held on Monday evenings in the community gym at Granby Memorial High School. Pick-up games for 2 hours for those under age 35 from 7-9 pm. $50 for the session or $8 resident drop-in fee or $10 non-resident drop in fee. Drop in fees are cash only. Program runs from 9/16-11/25*.  Please check the Granby Recreation website Monday afternoons after 3 pm if you are a drop in for updates on cancellations. Drivers license needs to be shown at check in.*No Basketball on 10/14, 11/4.
