We are pleased to offer this 8 hour Safe Boating / Personal Watercraft Class just in time for the upcoming spring/summer boating season. Upon completing this course and passing the exam (which is given during the last class), the participant will have satisfied the DEEP's requirements and will be able to apply for their Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation (CPWO). The cost to apply for the Certificate is $50.00 and is NOT included in this class fee. This program is held on Monday & Tuesday evenings in the Community Gym at Granby Memorial High School. Pick-up games for 2 hours for those ages 18  and up from 7-9 pm. Granby Residents have two options to pay: $80 (which comes out to only $2.58 per night!) for the entire session (includes both nights) or pay a $5 drop-in fee per night.Non-Resident drop-in fee will be $10 per night. Being active is the secret to staying healthy! Walking is an easy and inexpensive way to get moving....join our walking club & come walk with us every Tuesday from 12:00-12:45 pm at the beautiful Salmon Brook Park during the lunch time hour. Meet at the Recreation Office. We will be staying on the pavement and walking around the park for 45 minutes of fitness, conversation and fun. We can all motivate each other at this weekly scheduled walk. Dogs and strollers are welcome! Dress for the weather! Registration is required. We are looking for a volunteer to lead this group! Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration and practice, case-based emergency response scenarios, and reflection and debriefing activities with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. This is a Self-Defense Workshop for those wishing to learn the basics of Self-Defense in a condensed class. The class incorporates a powerful comprehensive and integrated system that focuses on Self-Protection and what is effective on the street.Perfect opportunity for everyone: Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, & friends to learn what is effective against bullies, muggers, car jackers, kidnappers and rapists. The Self-Defense Workshop combines our first 12 core Self-Defense lessons into one 2 hour class. The class teaches: how to block, strike, punch, kick, and defend against common grabs and attacks, mimicking real life scenarios to help you escape. Meet at the Recreation Office. We will be staying on the pavement and walking around the park for 45 minutes of fitness, conversation and fun. We can all motivate each other at this weekly scheduled walk. Dogs and strollers are welcome! Dress for the weather! Registration is required. We are looking for a volunteer to lead this group! Mid-week miles! As the winter fades and the running season begins, get together with a group of adults to encourage one another, run with one another and prepare for the races of summer. Led by running coach Rob Lowe, the group will get together for a 10 minute warm-up followed by an enjoyable run through the McClain trails behind Salmon Brook Park for a 45 minute run followed by a brief 5 minute stretch. Groups will be established based upon pace and experience. Anyone who is interested in a group to pound away the miles with will be encouraged to join this adult running club. This is an outdoor running club and will require clothing for outdoor training (including trail running shoes) so that one can enjoy this experience. Rob will be happy to work with anyone to create an individualized plan by the end of the 6 week club.

This program is held on Monday & Tuesday evenings in the Community Gym at Granby Memorial High School. Pick-up games for 2 hours for those ages 18  and up from 7-9 pm. Granby Residents have two options to pay: $80 (which comes out to only $2.58 per night!) for the entire session (includes both nights) or pay a $5 drop-in fee per night.Non-Resident drop-in fee will be $10 per night. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:     Drop-in fees are cash only.      Drivers license needs to be shown at check in.      Program runs from 1/6/20 - 5/19/20*.  For those who choose drop-in registration only - please check the Granby Recreation website Monday and Tuesday afternoons after 3 pm for updates or cancellations. *No Basketball on the following dates:  1/20, 2/4, 2/11, 2/17, 2/18, 4/13, 4/14, 4/28, 5/12

Being active is the secret to staying healthy! Walking is an easy and inexpensive way to get moving....join our walking club & come walk with us every Tuesday from 12:00-12:45 pm at the beautiful Salmon Brook Park during the lunch time hour. Meet at the Recreation Office. We will be staying on the pavement and walking around the park for 45 minutes of fitness, conversation and fun. We can all motivate each other at this weekly scheduled walk. Dogs and strollers are welcome! Dress for the weather! Registration is required. We are looking for a volunteer to lead this group! Mid-week miles! As the winter fades and the running season begins, get together with a group of adults to encourage one another, run with one another and prepare for the races of summer. Led by running coach Rob Lowe, the group will get together for a 10 minute warm-up followed by an enjoyable run through the McClain trails behind Salmon Brook Park for a 45 minute run followed by a brief 5 minute stretch. Groups will be established based upon pace and experience. Anyone who is interested in a group to pound away the miles with will be encouraged to join this adult running club. This is an outdoor running club and will require clothing for outdoor training (including trail running shoes) so that one can enjoy this experience. Rob will be happy to work with anyone to create an individualized plan by the end of the 6 week club.

The class incorporates a powerful comprehensive and integrated system that focuses on Self-Protection and what is effective on the street.Perfect opportunity for everyone: Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, & friends to learn what is effective against bullies, muggers, car jackers, kidnappers and rapists. The Self-Defense Workshop combines our first 12 core Self-Defense lessons into one 2 hour class. The class teaches: how to block, strike, punch, kick, and defend against common grabs and attacks, mimicking real life scenarios to help you escape.
