With the help of the GMHS cheerleaders, children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade will learn what it takes to be a cheerleader through team building activities. The focus of this camp is to build leadership, self-confidence, showmanship and teamwork. Children will be taught with guidance from the high school cheerleaders and coach jumps, chants, basic stunting, tumbling (rolls, cartwheels, roundoffs) and most importantly how to wear a cheer bow. All cheerleaders will receive a cheer bow. Open to boys and girls, any age.
Participants should wear a t-shirt, shorts and sneakers. Bring a water bottle and hair should be up in a ponytail. Classes will be held on the grass field near the Band Shell at Salmon Brook Park.
